How fast does an electric bike go?

Fast enough to make you grin, but not so fast that you’ll break the sound barrier (yet). The stock Surron Light Bee and Talaria XXX can hit around 75 km/h, but with mods… well, let’s just say, hold on tight!

Can it handle off-road riding?

Absolutely! The bikes were born for the trails, it eats dirt, rocks, and hills for breakfast. Just wear your gear, its still a dirt bike.

How long does it take to charge?

About 3-4 hours with the stock charger. Just enough time to grab a snack, watch some YouTube mods, and get hyped for your next ride.

Can I make my battery last longer?

Absolutely! Here are three golden rules:

  1. Don’t drain it too low – try to stay above 20% charge.
  2. Balance charge once a week – it keeps the cells happy.
  3. Store smart – aim for a cool 10–30°C environment.

We recommend charging to around 80% for everyday rides, saving those full 100% charges for longer adventures. Think of it like your smartphone, constantly running it flat and charging to 100% shortens its life. Treat it with care, and your battery will go the distance.

Can I ride in the rain?

Yes, but don’t go full submarine mode. It’s water-resistant, not waterproof. Puddles are fine, but deep dives are a no-go.

How do I maintain my ride?

It’s not a gas bike, but it still needs love:

  • Check chain tension (loose chains = bad times)
  • Chain lube, chain lube, chain lube
  • Keep the battery charged (don’t let it sit at 0% for weeks)
  • Tighten bolts regularly (because vibration is real)

Can I pop a wheelie?

Hell yeah! Perfect bike to learn on. You'll be the envy of your mates in no time!

How do I get more range?

Easy:

  • Ride smoother (less full-throttle drag racing)
  • Pump up your tires (low pressure = more rolling resistance)
  • Upgrade the battery (bigger Ah = longer rides)
  • Ditch excess weight (do you really need a backpack full of snacks?)

What is the warranty?

The bike and its parts come with a 1 year warranty. It covers parts and servicing for manufacturing defects.

Can I book a test ride?

Absolutely! Use the Book a Hoon page to book a ride. Come prepared with some gear - no helmet, no ride.

Can I collect my new ride or does it need to be delivered?

No way, if you live locally you can pick it up. Don't forget your strops!
